    The November meeting of the Sunshine Regionwas located at The Dutch Heritage Restaurant on Bahia Vista St in Sarasota.We had four guests,Mr.l Don Mc Garvey and his wife, and Phil Mertz (W. Michigan) with Francis (Allentown, Pa) both of whom have extensive knowledge of trains

  • 2011 PACKARD SHOW

    Sunday November 13th was the Packard Show at Tom & Jacki Kaiser's house; "Wit's End".Many Sunshine Region members were there viewing the Packards of the 20's and 30's.We saw Calvin High, Bob Zu Hone, Don & Hedda Summerlin, Lois & Ed Greer, Gerry & Barbara Shapiro, Gene & Sharon Cohen, Jim Lynch, John & Barbara Nelson, Linda Koch, Don Hughes and Joe Malaney.
    Even the "Y" brands showed up---a Chevrolet, Overland, White, EMF, a Dorris and a Hudson to view the cars.

  • LAKELAND LAKE MIRROR INVITATIONAL

    This was our first time to enter the Lake Mirror Car Show.Our 1914 OVERLAND was the oldest car there which was a disappointment for us.We were classed in Special Interest which even the judge did not know how to approach judging for this.We were amongst a VW camper, a VW Love Bug and an Austin Bantam.Outside of the Tucker that was there. I took minimal pictures.Enjoy.

  • TREASURE ISLAND AACA REGION CAR SHOW

    Saturday November 5th we headed over to Port St. Lucie to enjoy a fresh assortment of older cars.We were surprised to find three Chryslers, the Graham, an Auburn, and three Rolls.

  • SUNSHINE REGION'S TRIP TO SEBRING

    On September 9th the Sarasota Sunshine AACA toured to Sebring to try out the track and cheer on Bob Tone as he competed.

  • SEPTEMBER PIZZA PARTY AND MEETING

    On September 19th the Sunshine Region AACA met at Siesta Beach to have a pizza party for members.We saw some returning from the north and others just a good get together.Jim Lynch, Arnie Berns, Gerry Shapiro, and a visitor, Brad Ashley brought their cars.It was also a celebration of Arnie's birthday. Pictures were taken by Lorraine Orr and Arnold Berns.

  • SUNSHINE REGION TRIP TO MIXON FARMS

    Mixon Farm Tour

    After a lttle socializing in the parking lot and having a group photo, a caravan of eleven beautiful cars left for our destination, with Gene in the lead.We followed his Lincoln and twenty-four tourists arrived at Mixon Fruit Farms to be greeted and instructed where to park.With a neat ride on the farm's tram and an excellent educational expose by a terrific guide, we ended at an exhibit of some exotic and indigenous animals.Once again, the guide gave us an outstanding lesson with each animal he presented.

    Through the efforts of Arnold Berns, the SUNSHINE REGION was invited to display their cars at a home development to gather interested customers.It was a show that garnered funds for the club.The event started at the HOB NOB a local and memory provoking eateryand proceeded to Bradenton.The pictures enclosed are from Arnold Berns and James Lynch.

  • Mount Dora Tour

    Ed and I were able to meet up with our friends from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.There were 50-60 horseless carriages---from a 1904 REO to many FORD Ts with an interspersal of BUICKS, HUDSONS, CADILLACS, STANLEYS, MITCHELLS, MERCERS, WHITES, PACKARDS, EMFS, MOLINES, INTERSTATES, LOCOMOBILES, PIERCE ARROWS, STEVENS-DURYEAS, SAXONS, STUDEBAKERS,DORRIS, and DODGES.
