• SLOW SPOKES TAMPA TOUR

        Saturday we were able to tour with the Slow Spokes and the MARC Club to Tampa.  We arrived in time to have a tour of the Vinoy Hotel.  It was built December, 1925 after an idea conceived that same year.  We were not allowed to photograph the interior so my shots are of the exterior.  We toured the surrounding gardens and noted a solarium for one.  Very interesting.  Of course, we are always on time for meals.  We had a very filling meal served by very competent waitresses.  The dining room was very elegant and the service was o

  • MERCER ANNIVERSARY MEET IN ROEBLING, NJ

    THis summer twenty-three Mercer cars met at the Roebling plant to celebrate its 100th anniversary.  The Roebling family is famous for the Brooklyn Bridge, the canal bridge in Pennsylvania and also the manufacture of the Mercer car.  The town is restored since it was a company town.  Everyone lived there according to his position in the company.  It is very interesting since Hershey was developed with its citizens in mind also.

    The Siesta Chamber of Commerce is willing to pay our club to display their cars at their 50th anniversary.A car from the 50's would be preferable but all will be welcome. It will be Friday, November 6th from 6-10 at the Siesta Beach Pavilion.There will be food fo4r participants and music to enjoy.

    Tom Kaiser will hold the annual Packard Show at his home on Sarasota Gol Club Boulevard.X-Brands arealllowed to park in a separate sit on Tom's property.The cars will be displayed from 9-2:30 for all to see.

  • HCCA TOUR IN ONEONTA, NY

    We met up with the HCCA Tour as they displayed their cars on the avenue for the people of Onenta.  The street was closed off to normal traffic.  The town had posters advertising this event and the stores were available for meals and shopping.  Everyone enjoyed themselves.
